The culmination of my graduate thesis work, “The Surrogacy State” is a 4,000 word reported feature published by New York Magazine’s The Cut . I spent months reporting on the lived experiences of three women pregnant with other peoples’ babies, as well as researched state and federal laws (or the lack thereof) surrounding the intimate and complex practice of paid gestational surrogacy.
